"ITS, the Incompatible Timesharing System, is an operating system for
the PDP-10 computer family. It was created by hackers at MIT in the
1960s. The MIT site was shut down in 1990, but enthusiasts continue to
operate ITS systems to this day."

"This repository contains source code, tools, and scripts to build an
ITS system from scratch.

The goals are:
-To provide an automated build from start to end. No user
intervention is necessary.
-To check which programs have source code, and which programs are
missing source code.
-To ensure that we know how to build all programs.
-To update programs with the latest bug fixes and enhancements.
-To be able to set configurable options across the whole system, such
as host name, IP address, hardware devices.

The build currently runs on the SIMH and KLH10 emulators."

Cooles Projekt! Ich habe diverse builds davon auf meinem Notebook
und auf einem alten Raspi laufen.

(leider immer wieder mal down -- Fehlermeldung unbedingt lesen! :))

Ein historisches Unix auf einer VAX-11/780 (Emulation) anzuschauen finde
ich schon spannend. Aber ein Incompatible Timesharing System auf einer
PDP-10 (Emu) zu durchstöbern ist glatt aufregend.

:-D

Auch spannend:

http://mim.update.uu.se/

"This is a short page to show HTTP on RSX, as well as some basic HECnet
info
This is the first web page of the BQT WEB server running BQTCP/IP on
RSX-11M-PLUS V4.6

This web server was written by Johnny Billquist, and it runs on an
emulated PDP-11/74 (under E11). The web server is written in BASIC+2
V2.7, and it uses the TCP/IP stack also written by Johnny Billquist.
There is a second web page here as well.

The TCP/IP stack itself is written in MACRO-11, and libraries exist for
writing software in both MACRO-11, PDP-11 C, FORTRAN 77, BASIC+2 and
other languages on the PDP-11. The TCP/IP stack itself appears as a
number of devices in RSX, and access to TCP can also be done though the
normal command line tools available in RSX. "
